Gay and Lesbian Switchboard is a volunteer organisation which provides a free and confidential telephone counselling, referral and information service for the Victorian and Tasmanian gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) communities.  Our phones are staffed by trained volunteers who themselves are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. 
We receive calls from a wide range of people: some may be experiencing problems at work, in their relationships, with family or who are coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
We are also happy to speak with family and friends of people who are gay or lesbian and health and welfare professionals with GLBTI clients.
Some issues may be related to a caller's sexuality or the caller may choose to call our service about issues not related to sexuality, preferring the help of a GLBTI organisation. Please explore our website and feel free to call our counsellors to seek any information you need or discuss any issues.
