Understanding Inclusivity for LGBTIQA+ people
This 4 hour workshop is supported by LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA). Switchboard Vic has developed this training as an introduction to the LGBTIQA+SB Lived Experiences of Suicidal Distress Workforce Development training which is taking place on 23 May at the Vic Pride Centre.
This training is suitable for anyone who works in the mental health sector.
In this online workshop you will learn about:

Understanding our histories, intersectionality and anti-racist ways of working
About mental health and suicide
LGBTIQA+SB: what do they mean?
Pronouns: why are they important and how do you share them?
Community engagement: Inclusive practice
Moving to an understanding of lived experience of suicidal distress.
Once you have completed this workshop you can attend the second training session on 23 May which will be held in person at the Vic Pride Centre.

LGBTQA+SB Lived Experience of Suicidal Distress workforce Development training
This training supported by LGBTIQ+ Health Australia (LHA) will give you the opportunity to build on the learning that you did when attending the workshop Understanding inclusivity for LGBTIQA+ people and it will help you:
This training is suitable for anyone who works in the mental health sector.
Connect with narratives of LGBTIQA+SB people who have experiences of suicidal distress.
Increase your confidence to talk about LGBTIQA+SB people and communities using an intersectional lens
Learn about factors that protect LGBTIQA+SB from experiencing distress and how these factors vary in strength and availability
Improve your ability to hear LGBTIQA+SB people’s stories about suicide.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please specify any dietary requirements when you RSVP.
This training is based on research completed by RMIT, Switchboard Vic, Roses in the Ocean and Suicide Prevention Australia. The training is suitable for anyone who works in the mental health sector.
