WHIN is the women’s health promotion and advocacy organisation for the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne (NMR). They are not-for-profit, member-based and run for and by women and gender-diverse people.
Trans Equity in Sexual and Reproductive Health – community health workshop series
The Trans and Gender Diverse in Community Health (TGDiCH) team from Your Community Health are proud to offer a three-part workshop series for trans community members this May, alongside gender equity organisation Women’s Health In the North (WHIN).
The workshop series has been designed and will be led by trans health educators and people with professional and lived expertise in trans sexual and reproductive health and health system navigation. This project is funded by NEPHU - North Eastern Public Health Unit.
Workshop Overview:
This workshop will take a rights-based approach to discussions around trans equity in sexual and reproductive health, and health service system navigation. This workshop will be facilitated by Heti Mackallah (they/them).
This workshop will include opportunities for reflection and discussion around individual and shared community experiences of health system navigation, advocacy, and strengths, as well as resources to take away to support ongoing reflections.
Event Details:
This workshop will be conducted in person, and food and drink will be offered.
An air filter (HEPA) will be in use at this event, and masks will be provided and are encouraged to be worn.
This workshop will be held at balit wurun (Preston (PANCH) Health Centre), at 300 Bell Street, Preston. This event will be held on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin Nations, with respect extended to Elders past and future, and First Nations people in attendance.
