Switchboard QTIBPOC Program
QTIBPOC stands for queer, trans and/or intersex Black people, Indigenous people, and people of colour.
It’s an imperfect acronym.
We know it fails to hold complexity and communicate distinct racialised identities and experiences on stolen land.
Within QTIBPOC, we include LGBTQIASB+ people who are:
First Nations people
Non-white settlers, including refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants, migrants, and international students.
Connection & equity for QTIBPOC
Switchboard Victoria’s QTIBPOC Program is a small program that seeks to contribute to greater connection and equity among QTIBPOC in Victoria.
Decentring whiteness
QTIBPOC share legacies and roots in non-Western cultures that prioritise collective ways of knowing, doing, and being, over individualised ways.
These are some of the things that brings us together when we decentre whiteness.
Collective & relational
That’s why we run QTIBPOC-led events, workshops, and grants, that focus on the collective.
We want to contribute to greater skills, experiences, and knowledge, that prioritise collective and relational ways of doing things — things we know help us to survive and thrive together.
2025 QTIBPOC Mini Grants
QTIBPOC Mini Grants are small grants ($500-1000) to support QTIBPOC-led initiatives, collectives and community organisations working to foster social connection and collective wellbeing.

QTIBPOC Advisory Committee
The QTIBPOC Program team works in collaboration with a small QTIBPOC Advisory Committee, who meet quarterly. Each committee member contributes their lived experiences, knowledge and experiences.
These relationships help us ensure the QTIBPOC program is responsive to community needs.
