Amelia Arnold (she/her)

Chair

Amelia is a white queer cis woman, working and living on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung land in the northern suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne). Amelia’s professional expertise is in research, research translation and training and workshop delivery in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, fertility, mental health and LGBTIQA+ service user experience. Amelia works coordinating the training and capacity building work within the Sexual and Reproductive Health Promotion team at Women's Health in the North (WHIN) and is a research associate with the Growing Queer Families Alliance within the Centre of Research Excellence, Health in Preconception and Pregnancy at Monash University.

Amelia is currently working on research and training projects that centre the experiences of LGBTIQA+ people in mainstream sexual and reproductive health, including the experiences of queer and trans parents and their families. Amelia has previously worked as a trainer and facilitator with Rainbow Health Australia and Thorne Harbour Health, delivering training to health and human service organisations to build their capacity to work with LGBTIQA+ communities.

Outside of paid work, Amelia has served on Switchboard’s Board of Directors for the past six years, previously chairing Switchboard's Community Engagement Committee, and sits on the Rainbow Families at Switchboard Working Group. Amelia's idea of a good time includes pottering through vintage shops, dancing, gardening, and spending time with her loved ones and dog.

Elle Cartmill (they/them)

Elle is a passionate mental health advocate and social justice activist across a multitude of organisations and sectors where their focus is systematic change for the benefit of LGBTIQ+ folks. They are a community presenter for Black Dog Institute, on the Expert Advisory Committee for MindOut at LGBTIQ+ Health Australia, and a volunteer at Switchboard. Elle works at the Melbourne Children's Campus, as a Workforce Development Lead, where their extracurricular work includes co-designing and leading the Campus LGBTIQA+ Strategy Network, the Gender Equity SAGE accreditation, and the LGBTIQA+ Peer Support Network. Elle's lived experience coupled with their identity as a non-binary and queer individual informs their empathetic and bold style of leadership in their community.

Sean Badley (he/him)

General Board Member

Sean Badley is a proud multiheritage black queer man with an ancestral heritage of African, Caribbean, and Scottish descent.

Sean currently works in the leadership and executive development industry, consulting in various sectors, including government, health, education, and numerous private sectors. Diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging are central to the themes in Sean's work, with the core focus on building safe and inclusive workspaces across Australia.

Sean has demonstrated a successful career in the private sector, having held senior leadership roles with commercial, operational, and administrative accountability in Australia, the United Kingdom, and North America.

Sean holds a Master's in business administration from RMIT, an Advanced Diploma in leadership and management, and credentials in project management, global leadership, truth-telling and anti-racism, workplace training and assessment, and capability development. This broad range of knowledge provides frameworks and insights for organizational sustainability, innovation, and people engagement.

Jenna Tuke (she/her)

General Member

Jenna (she/her) is a  queer woman, Social Worker and Psychotherapist who has worked in direct practice, education and leadership roles in health and legal services for over twenty years  – primarily with victim-survivors of sexual assault and other violent crimes. Jenna is committed to social transformation through the inclusion of diverse voices and individual histories and is informed by queer theory and an intersectional feminist framework. She was the Counselling Supervisor at Switchboard during the Marriage Equality Campaign in 2017 and is currently employed as the Coordinator of CASA House.  Jenna lives between Melbourne and regional Victoria with her partner and their two children.

Jenna has a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work and Masters of Counselling and Human Services.

Morgan Podesta (she/her)

General Board Member

Morgan Podesta is a Family Law and Children's Court Lawyer currently practising at Nicholes Family Lawyers. Morgan primarily does private legal work and regularly takes on VLA-funded or pro-bono clients in need. Her specialty practice areas include complex financial matters, international child abduction, LGBTQIA+ matters and special medical procedure cases. Morgan has advocated in Court on behalf of transgender youth seeking gender affirming care. She is a proud transgender woman and queer advocate. Morgan holds a Bachelor of Business and Law in addition to a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Tina Dixson (she/her)

General Board Member

Tina Dixson is an academic, activist and social policy professional. Her doctoral research focused on the lived experiences and narratives surrounding the forced displacement and violence faced by queer and trans women. Her academic journey delves into various fields, including trauma theory, gender studies, migration studies, and queer theory. 

In 2012, Tina, along with her partner Renee Dixson, was compelled to leave Ukraine due to their impactful work in advancing LGBTIQ+ human rights. They found a new home in Australia, where Tina has been actively involved in the co-founding of the Forcibly Displaced People Network. Her contributions extend to numerous projects addressing issues of LGBTIQ+ displacement, both within Australia and on the global stage. Currently, Tina works for the ACT Government in the areas of social policy and inclusion. 

Mitchell Ajduk (he/him)

Mitchell has over 12 years’ experience providing risk and assurance services to support organisations in private and not-for-profit sectors to enable them to achieve their organisational goals. He has worked across multiple industries including professional services and education and places a strong emphasis on improving risk management and operational practices to support organisational growth. He is currently an Executive at CPA Australia and has a strong focus on strategy design and execution to maximise member and customer experiences. Mitchell is passionate about ensuring there are adequate support services LGBTIQA+ communities and utilises his expertise to support Switchboard to progress these services. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and is Certified Practising Accountant and Chartered Accountant. He is currently studying his Master of Business Administration at University of Melbourne.
