External Event - Trans Book Festival
Hosted by Transgender Victoria
About Transgender Victoria
Transgender Victoria (TGV) are Victoria’s leading body for transgender, gender diverse and non-binary (TGD) people. They are trans-led, working for, by and with trans communities to achieve better social, economic and health outcomes. They represent TGD communities by fostering connection, advocating for change and supporting trans people to lead full and meaningful lives.
The Trans Book Festival is a day to celebrate the talents, courage and creativity of trans and gender diverse authors.
Since the so-called transgender tipping point in the late 2010s, there’s been an explosion of books written by the transgender, gender diverse and non-binary people here on this continent and around the world. The Trans Book Festival will take a moment to honour our communities’ achievements across memoir, poetry, fiction and non-fiction and foster a critical dialogue on diversity within Australian publishing.
With an all-star line-up from across so-called Australia including Alison Evans, Clare O’Hanlon, Dylin Hardcastle, Erin Riley, Hasib Hourani, Jasper Peach, Kaya Wilson, Kris Kneen, Liz Sutherland, Madison Moffat, Michael Earp, Mx Sly, Nevo Zisin, Noah Riseman, Orlando Silver, P.Eldridge of Sissy Anarchy (UK), Quinn Eades, Sam Elkin, Shelley Parker-Chan, Son Vivienne, Yves Rees, Ernest Price + more to be announced, the Trans Book Festival will be an unforgettable day for both LGBTIQA+ and literary Melbourne.
