QTIBPoC Grounding Series - session 4

QTIBPoC Grounding Series - session 4

The QTIBPoC Grounding Workshops are a series of free workshop events for LGBTQIASB+ Indigenous, Bla(c)k and People of Colour, hosted by the QTIBPoC Program at Switchboard Victoria. Each workshop will be guided by a different QTIBPoC facilitator who will invite participants to reconnect to the self in space and time through a range of expressions and practices. All workshops link back to the theme of grounding.

About the facilitator: Born and raised in Aotearoa Janina Asiedu is a Queer Ghanaian artist, herbal ritualist and ancestral mentor. Janina’s healing journey was activated through deep transformations within their spiritual beliefs. Guided through self-initiation as they were led to explore plant medicine and their West African roots. Receiving mentorship from Rongoā practitioner Joanne Hakaraia, participating in Rongoā Mauri online course in 2022 and continuing to study under her today.

Their practice 'Nyame Dua' x 'House of Afi' offers Tarot divination, ceremonial items for self care and tools for ancestral restoration. Janina has facilitated workshops in Tāmaki Makaurau and Naarm for QTIBPOC. They dream of one day furthering their practice throughout Africa and the wider diaspora.
