Switchboard and our lived experience of suicide network are declaring that we need action!
With the additional impact of issues like discrimination, social stigma and marginalisation on the mental health of LGBTIQA+SB people, mainstream suicide prevention services often don’t reach or appropriately support LGBTIQA+SB communities.
With support from LGBTIQ+ Health Australia, Switchboard Victoria is developing a national Declaration of LGBTQIA+SB Lived Experience Leadership in Suicide Prevention.
The Declaration will tell the story of why we need LGBTQIA+SB suicide prevention service delivery at all levels of healthcare, drawing on a set of evidence-based demands.
We will work closely with LGBTQIA+SB people with lived experience to design the Declaration and tell their stories to create meaningful change in our suicide prevention sector.
Join us online to learn more about the Declaration and how you can get involved in this important work.
